Triple H (champion) vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE heavyweight championship
Very slow-paced, methodical match. Hunter worked over the left arm and tried to get Reigns to tap out, but Reigns kept powering out.
Ending came when Stephanie McMahon entered the ring to complain to the ref. Hunter walked over and moved to avoid a spear from Reigns, who hit Stephanie with it by accident. She sold it like she was unconscious. Hunter hit a pedigree, but Reigns kicked out just before the three count. Reigns hit a Superman punch, but Hunter stopped the spear with a high knee. Hunter rolled to the ring apron, where a recovering Stephanie handed him a sledgehammer. Reigns avoided it, hit the spear, and got the pin. The crowd booed the finish.

Shane McMahon vs. Undertaker, Hell in a Cell
I'm surprised this isnt closing the show. They must have something big planned for HHH vs. Reigns.
Undertaker won with  a Tombstone piledriver. But the big move was Shane leaping off the top of the cage onto Undertaker, who was draped across the announce table. Undertaker moved, and Shane crashed through the table and hit the floor. And it didn't look like there was any padding to break his fall. Shane was carted off on a stretcher. I was hoping for some sort of acknowledgement from Undertaker that Shane earned some respect. Other than that, the match was good, better than I expected it to be. I cant imagine what Shane's wife and kids were thinking while watching their husband and father drop 20 feet to the arena floor. It's worth subscribing to the WWE network just to see this match.

Union Budget: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley Presents Government's 2016-2017 Budget

During the Union Budget presentation Monday, Jaitley said the government will increase spending on the rural economy, health and social sectors.

2.87 lakh for gram Panchayats and Municipalities is huge. It will help the developing villages on par cities in terms of providing basic amenities only if it is used effectively without corruption.
Rs 38,500 crore allocated for MNREGA in 2016-17, the highest ever if the entire amount is spent. Is again good thing to know.
So focus of this budget is on education, village development , farmers, healthcare and women.

Jaitley announces the nine pillars of his Budget — Agriculture and farmers' welfare, rural sector, social sector including healthcare, education, skills and job creation, infrastructure, financial sector reforms, ease of doing business, fiscal discipline, tax reforms to reduce compliance burden.
I think Arun Jaitley has taken a step in the right direction with the Union Budget 2016. Let's hope the implementation for the same is done in an optimal way for the development of the said 9 pillars!

88th Annual Oscars

Leonardo DiCaprio won the Best Actor Award for his role in "The Revenant" and Brie Larson won the Best Actress Award for her role in "Room." The show was hosted by Chris Rock.

It’s the 88th Academy Awards. It’s the 88th Academy Awards, which means — this whole no black nominees thing has happened at least 71 other times. Okay? You got to figure that it happened in the ‘50s, in the ‘60s. You know, in the ‘60s, one of those years, Sidney didn’t put out a movie. I’m sure — I’m sure there were no black nominees, some of those years.

“Why are we protesting this Oscars? It’s the 88th Academy Awards, which means this ‘no black nominees’ thing happened at least 71 other times. You got to figure that it happened in the ’50s, in the ’60s. One of those years, Sidney [Poitier] didn’t put out a movie. I’m sure there were no black nominees some of those years, say ‘62 or ‘63. Black people did not protest. Why? Because we had real things to protest at the time. We were too busy being raped and lynched to care about who won best cinematography. When your grandmother’s swinging from a tree, it’s really hard to care about best documentary foreign short.”

Leonardo DiCaprio: Actor Wins Best Actor Award for His Role in 'The Revenant' at Oscars

I am so happy... He should have won this award several times by now for so many amazing performances... Love his passion, his honesty... What a man! What an amazing talent of a man.... He is one of the best in my eyes😍😍😍
He could have made his acceptance speech about his long journey to getting an Oscar, but he didn't. Instead he made it about climate change and indigenous people. Respect. Always was, always is, and always will be a big big fan.

Through hard work he has achieved amazing recognition for his talent which he deserves. But what I respect so much is that he has used the‪#‎oscars‬ as a platform to send out a crucial message. A message which is so much more important than a little gold statue and recognition.
It's so scary that we have shown no respect for the planet Earth and it's plants and animals. Sometimes we are so caught up in day to day life, dramas, force fed fake news and ridiculous politics that we are sending our own species to extinction and dragging innocent species down with us who evolved to coexist with us and ultimately help us.
Big respect Leo. Finally You done it

Swami Vivekananda: National Youth Day Commemorates Birthday of Hindu Monk in India

Vivekananda, credited with bringing Yoga and Vedanta to the West, was born Jan. 12, 1863. India began Youth Day in 1984 to observe his teachings.

Swami Vivekananda's message to the youth…
I have faith in my country, and especially in the youth of my country. My hope is in you.
Be not afraid of anything. You will do marvelous work. The moment you fear, you are nobody. It is fear that is the great cause of misery in the world. It is fear that is the greatest of all superstitions. It is fear that is the cause of our woes, and it is fearlessness that brings heaven even in a moment. All power is within you; you can do anything and everything. Believe in that, do not believe that you are weak; Stand up and express the divinity within you.
Therefore, “Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached.”
Have that faith, each one of you, in yourself — that eternal power is lodged in every soul — and you will revive the whole of India. We must go out, we must conquer the world through our spirituality and philosophy.

There can perhaps never be an end to talking about Swami Vivekananda and getting inspiration from his life and teachings. However another aspect of his life was that he was an avid writer and used to use humor also in his writings. He was perhaps a complete artists as he used to paint, sing and compose poetry also. He was an orator par excellence. Let us remember Swami Vivekananda today and talk about his contribution to the knowledge and learning of the mankind.
Let us encourage each other in sharing knowledge.

Zinedine Zidane: Real Madrid Manager Says Cristiano Ronaldo is 'the Soul of the Team'

"Cristiano is more than non-transferable," Zidane told reporters when addressing rumors of a Ronaldo transfer to Manchester United. "He's going nowhere."

Christiano Ronaldo not transferable – Zidane
Jan 9, 2016
New Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane says there is no chance Cristiano Ronaldo will leave the club while he is in charge, Sky Sports reports.
Zidane begins his reign at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday, when the club begins life after Rafael Benitez with a home clash against Deportivo La Coruna.
Ronaldo’s future in Spain had come into question amid reports of tension between him and Benitez, and the Daily Telegraph hinted he may still look to leave in the summer despite Zidane’s appointment on Monday.
The 30-year-old has constantly been linked with a move back to the Premier League, where he enjoyed great success under Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.
But the Frenchman was unequivocal about his desire to keep Ronaldo at the club, when he said: “Cristiano is more than untransferable, he’s the soul of this Madrid. As long as I’m here he won’t leave, that’s for sure.

“Cristiano will play along the wing and he’ll play whatever happens. I’m going to give few instructions to Cristiano, his record talks for itself.
“The only thing I want is that he feels happy, at ease.”
It appears the transfer window could be a quiet one for Zidane, who said movement in and out of the club would be unlikely.
“Possible departures, I don’t think and I don’t want. Signings neither, I have a big squad and am satisfied with it,” he added.
Zidane’s first game in charge is a tough one, as Deportivo have only lost three games all season and their seventh position owes a lot to the fact nine of their 18 games have ended in draws.
Real sit in third, four points behind leaders and city rivals Atletico Madrid, and Zidane is expected to change their tactical approach, which could benefit the likes of James Rodriguez and Isco.

FIFA: Football Federation Presidential Candidate Says He Would Review Role of Consulting Firms

heikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa told Reuters if he won the group's presidency he would review the role of U.S. law and consulting firms hired to investigate corruption at the soccer body.

FIFA presidential candidate Salman to examine role of U.S. firms hired by FIFA if elected FIFA presidential candidate Sheikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa said on Friday (January 8) that if he is elected he will examine the role of the U.S law and consulting firms that were hired by the global soccer body in response to a U.S. Department of Justice probe of corruption in the sport.

Michel Platini has withdrawn his candidacy for the FIFA presidency in order to clear his name over allegations of corruption.
Platini is currently serving an eight-year ban from all football-related activity, a sanction handed down by the FIFA Ethics Committee, over an alleged "disloyal payment" made by Sepp Blatter to the Frenchman in 2011.
In an interview with French sports newspaper L'Equipe, an extract of which was published on Thursday, he said: "I no longer put myself forward to be president of FIFA, I have withdrawn my candidacy.
"I cannot do it, I do not have the time to see voters, meet people, to fight with the others.
"By removing myself, I have made the choice to dedicate myself to my defence against a dossier in which there is no mention of corruption, of falsification, forgery, where there is nothing any more."
The election to replace Blatter, who is also serving an eight-year ban, at the head of the world game is scheduled for February 26.
Platini says the timeframe is simply too tight although that is not the only reason he is backing out.
"There is a timing issue but it's not just that," he added.
"How can one win an election when you are unable to campaign?"
Platini has hinted he will take his case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) but has been told by FIFA that route is closed until the governing body's appeals committee first rejects his request.
Platini's withdrawal means Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, Jerome Champagne, Gianni Infantino, Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim al-Khalifa and Tokyo Sexwale will stand in the election.
Former France and Juventus midfielder Platini suggested, however, that he would have received plenty of support had he been eligible to take part.
He added: "When Blatter retired, I received 150 declarations of support. A hundred official letters from federations and 50 promises. All that in two days.
"But today I have to take care of all the actions, follow the procedures - the CAS and the [electoral] commission chaired by Domenico Scala, who said that I had falsified accounts.
"I would have fought as I have always done in my life but I was not given the opportunity to compete this time around."

Angela Merkel: German Chancellor Proposes Tougher Migration Laws Following Cologne Attacks

The proposal would allow authorities to deny asylum and deport refugees and asylum seekers who are convicted of crimes. At least 22 migrants allegedly assaulted women in Germany on Dec. 31.

Angela Merkel has said she will back tougher laws on deporting immigrants as far-right protesters marched in Cologne following a string of sex attacks allegedly committed by asylum seekers. German federal police have confirmed that at least 32 people are suspected of playing a role in the violence on New Year’s Eve, 22 of whom are in the process of seeking asylum. Of the 32 suspects, nine were Algerian, eight Moroccan, five Iranian, and four Syrian. Three German citizens, an Iraqi, a Serb and a US citizen were also identified. Gangs of men described by some of the alleged victims as being of North African or Arab descent are reported to have robbed, threatened or sexually assaulted 121 women as revellers partied near the city

At last Angela Merkel is waking up to the problem. There should be harsh punishment (i.e. deportation) for all "refugees" who commit crimes in their new country. German law is too lax. For instance, on Friday two refugees from Morocco were in court in Cologne for stealing a mobile phone. They were each sentenced to 7 days in prison, but released immediately because they had spent a week in prison awaiting trial. That's a joke. They're already out on the street robbing more people.

Egypt: 3 Tourists Stabbed and 1 Attacker Killed at Hurghada Hotel, Officials Say

Security forces killed one attacker and seriously wounded another on Friday at Bella Vista Hotel, the Interior Ministry said. The victims were not seriously injured.

At least two foreign tourists have been injured in an attack at a hotel in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of ‪‎Hurghada‬.
Egyptian state TV says local security forces repelled the attack and one assailant has been killed.
The attack took place at the Bella Vista hotel. Reports vary as to the nationalities of the victims, and whether they were shot or stabbed

Can't believe this happened to a hotel that was 3 minutes down the road from where me and Dan were staying in Egypt. We were so lucky that we left before it all happened. How can people be so fucking horrid to do this to innocent people. So glad they're all okay and that the bastards were shot dead. Such an awful world.

Project Tango: Google and Lenovo Announce Technology Platform to Be Available as Smartphone

The two companies made the announcement at CES in Las Vegas. Project Tango motion tracking allows mobile devices to figure out space and motion. The smartphone is expected to cost $500.

Google says Project Tango is "A mobile device that can see how we see". That describes a Project Tango device, one that has a hardware/software combination that allows it to use 3D motion tracking and depth sensing to have "the ability to know where it is and how it moves through space."

Arsenal vs Sunderland team news: Alex Iwobi handed first-team chance, Petr Cech starts in goal

Alex Iwobi has been handed a chance to impress by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who starts against Sunderland in Saturday’s FA Cup third round tie at the Emirates Stadium.
Mesut Ozil is rested but there are also starts for Joel Campbell, Kieran Gibbs and Gabriel, who did not play from the off in last week’s win over Newcastle United.
Petr Cech is in goal as back-up goalkeeper David Ospina, who usually features in cup ties, has a slight groin problem.
Chile international Alexis Sanchez was hoping to return from a hamstring injury to feature but, as Wenger confirmed at a pre-match press conference on Friday, the forward’s comeback has been delayed.
Jordan Pickford makes his first-team debut in goal for Sunderland after returning from a loan at Preston North End.
Ola Toivonen, Danny Graham and DeAndre Yedlin come into the team from that which beat Aston Villa 3-1 last weekend.

Line-ups

Arsenal: Cech; Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Gibbs; Chambers, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Iwobi, Campbell, Walcott; Giroud
Substitutes: Macey, Debuchy, Monreal, Arteta, Ramsey, Reine-Adelaide, Willock
Sunderland: Pickford; Yedlin, O'Shea, Coates, Van Aanholt; Cattermole, Toivonen, Watmore, Lens; Fletcher, Graham

Novak Djokovic thrashes Rafael Nadal in Doha final, claims 60th ATP title

Novak Djokovic started his 2016 campaign with an easy Qatar Open final win over long-time rival Rafael Nadal  in Doha  on Saturday.
The final served as a perfect start to the new year with two of the most famous players taking on each other, adding another chapter into their storied rivalry. But it was the Serbian who dominated the match and won the one-sided title match in just over one hour, in straight sets 6-1, 6-2.
Djokvic, who entered the final unscathed, without dropping a set, has now won his 60th ATP title. But it was a sad story for the Spaniard, who was playing in the 99th career final.
Nadal, coming off a tough 2015 season, struggled against a superior Djokovic, lost his serve twice in the first set. The second set also witnessed the 14-time Grand Slam champion losing his serve twice.
He played 23 tournaments in 2015 but managed just three titles, failing to win a single Grand Slam or a Masters 1000 event.
For Djokovic, the outing was just a continuance to his superb 2015 form, wherein he made to the finals of all four Grand Slams, besides lifting host of titles and creating records galore.
